Meet Our Team
Shanyq Salop, Founder & Clinical Director, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP-BC
-
While my personal calendar is currently full, I act as the Clinical Director for Reflection Health. I work closely with our entire team behind the scenes to ensure every patient receives our highest standard of care, built on shared expertise and clinical collaboration.
"I remember growing up and not having the mental health support that I needed. Coming from a West Indian background, mental health care was nonexistent and natural remedies were the preferred approach to physical illness, if any. So, I had to find my own way. I remember telling myself, "therapists need therapists." In other words, everyone needs and deserves someone to support them through life's big and small moments and struggles. I want to be that person for you.
An integrative approach involves the use of psychological and social therapies, careful medication administration, along with scientifically-proven complementary therapies and lifestyle adjustments that promote health. The desire to learn about natural remedies and supplements while still appreciating what Western medicine can do is what brought me into integrative psychiatry."
My name is Shanyq Salop, and I specialize in working with young adults to middle-aged women-identified persons. Do you often feel overwhelmed, anxious, or like it's hard to catch a break? Are you having trouble finding balance in your life with all of your responsibilities, or are you struggling with depression?I can help you live a more complete life, build self-esteem and confidence, and improve overall mood and energy levels by offering integrative treatment plans that include medication management, nutraceuticals, relaxation techniques, behavioral activation, and supportive therapy.
In my practice, I use a combination of medication management and a holistic approach to providing comprehensive care to my clients. I believe in treating the whole person, not just your symptoms. I work collaboratively with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that fits your unique needs and goals. If you or someone you know could benefit from this type of care, consider my practice.
My approach is based on more than just medication management but also lifestyle changes to improve mental wealth. I enjoy watching my patients work hard to improve their mental health, which improves their daily lives. I am compassionate and empathetic and advocate for patients while nurturing their mental health.
-
I use a combination of:
Medication Management - involves carefully prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications to treat various mental health conditions.
Supportive Psychotherapy - provides emotional support and helps you cope with difficult life circumstances. It provides a safe, therapeutic, and empathetic space for you to express your thoughts and feelings. I offer feedback while helping you identify strengths, explore your values, and develop coping strategies.
Behavioral Activation - helps you overcome depression by identifying and changing behaviors contributing to your negative mood. I help you set goals, plan activities, and identify potential barriers or obstacles to engaging in them. Over time, consistent engagement in positive activities helps to improve mood and increase overall life satisfaction.
Nutraceuticals - products derived from food sources that provide health benefits beyond basic nutrition. They may include dietary supplements, fortified foods, and beverages that contain ingredients believed to promote health and prevent disease. These are not regulated as strictly as pharmaceutical drugs.
CBT-I - stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. It is a type of therapy that aims to treat insomnia by changing negative thoughts and behaviors related to sleep. CBT-I typically involves several components, including sleep restriction, stimulus control, sleep hygiene education, and cognitive restructuring.
Relaxation techniques - methods used to reduce stress and promote relaxation in the body and mind.

Alexis Brunstedt, PCC, MA, ADHD & Executive Function Coach, Certified
-
Alexis Brunstedt, MA, PCC, is an ICF Professional Certified Coach and ADHD and Executive Function Coach who helps adults understand how their brains work and build lives that work with them.
She works especially well with professionals, creatives, and people navigating career or life transitions, burnout, and long-standing patterns of overwhelm. Many of her clients are capable and insightful but struggle to consistently start, prioritize, organize, or follow through on what matters to them.
Alexis brings warmth, curiosity, structure, and appropriate challenge to the coaching relationship. She helps clients separate executive function challenges from their identity, rebuild trust in themselves, and turn insight into practical, sustainable action.
-
Alexis’s coaching is structured without being rigid. Each session begins with what is most present and important for the client. The program workbook provides continuity and useful tools, but it is used as a flexible guide rather than a script.
Together, Alexis and her clients identify where friction is occurring, explore the conditions that already help them function well, and design small experiments around focus, planning, organization, task initiation, transitions, emotional regulation, and follow-through. If a strategy does not work, it is treated as useful information, not a personal failure.
Her approach recognizes that executive function challenges are rarely mechanical alone.
Shame, perfectionism, fear of failure, energy, environment, and past experiences can all affect a person’s ability to act. Alexis creates space to acknowledge that context while keeping coaching practical, forward-focused, and within a clear coaching scope.
The goal is not to create a perfect system. It is to help each client develop tools they can return to, adjust, and trust in real life.
-
Alexis holds a Master of Arts in Executive Coaching and Consulting from Concordia University Irvine’s Townsend Institute and is credentialed as a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation.
